Eggshell is a perfect biological material. The quality of eggshell has an important impact on the hatching, storage and transportation, so it is particularly important to accurately evaluate the quality of eggshell.
Eggshell thickness is the earliest index used to evaluate eggshell quality and has always been one of the main indexes to evaluate eggshell quality.
However, the eggshell thickness is not uniform, the thickness of eggshell in different parts is not the same, so the eggshell thickness uniformity can be used as a property of the egg.
Eggshell thickness should be above 0.35mm generally, with good pressure resistance, long-distance transportation and easy storage.
Eggshell thickness has a great impact on the breakage rate. shell thickness 0.38mm~0.40mm breakage rate of 2%~3%. shell thickness 0.30mm~0.27mm breakage rate may be as high as 10%. shell thickness is less than 0.25mm breakage rate will be as high as 85%.
Measuring Result
We use YUSHI PM5 Gen2 ultrasonic thickness gauge equip a special probe to measure the average thickness of the eggshell at both ends, the middle and the sharp end, accurate to 0.01mm. The measurement echo is clear, convenient and fast, and the measurement value is accurate.
