Ultrasonic measurement of large thickness metals and high attenuation materials
1. The Role of Large Range
Ultrasonic testing is one of the common non-destructive testing technologies, and ultrasonic thickness measurement is the application of ultrasonic testing technology in thickness measurement. It uses ultrasonic pulse echo technology to measure many important structures and components in industry under non-destructive conditions.
To measure conventional thickness of materials, ordinary thickness gauges can generally meet the requirements. However, for large thickness of metal, rubber materials with strong attenuation, glass fiber materials and cast iron materials, the conventional thickness gauge range does not meet the requirements and cannot be measured.
2. Sample test results by PM-5 Series Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge
YUSHI PM-5 series ultrasonic thickness gauge are available with large range options. Measuring range up to 38 meters, resolution 0.01mm, high precision/large range in one. It can well solve the measurement of large thickness materials. Use conventional contact probes to measure large-thickness steel, organic glass, rubber and other materials. The echoes are clear, convenient and fast, and the measurement values are accurate.
Sample thickness is 1199mm , material is carbon steel.
Sample thickness is 220mm, Material acrylic or Plexiglass code PMMA
If you need to measure large thickness materials during production and use or want to know more detailed information about using ultrasonic technology to measure thicker or more attenuating glass fiber materials and cast iron materials, please contact us, YUSHI INSTRUMENTS will Provide you with solutions to solve your thickness measurement problems.
